Webinar: Opportunities and Challenges for Hybridization of Geothermal with Biomass and Concentrated Solar Thermal

Geothermal power plants (GEPPs) often have excess power block capacities due to declining geothermal reservoirs. The hybridization of an existing GEPP with Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST) and/or biomass has the opportunity to provide additional "green" heat to make use of this excess power block capacity.

Led by Prof. Derek Baker (Middle East Technical University), the webinar will provide comprehensive knowledge on the opportunities and challenges to hybridize geothermal with CST and biomass. Solutions developed within the within GeoSmart project will be presented, followed by an overview of the strongly aligned Horizon Europe CST4ALL project with a goal to catalyze follow-up collaborative activities.
