Krakow, Poland

South Poland Cleantech Cluster is a collaborative ‘quadruple helix’ cluster established by cleantech industry, research institutions, public/semi-state players and NGOs in the region of Southern Poland, with a vision to create Central Europe’s leading and at the same time one of the most competitive cleantech clusters in the world. This will deliver superior innovation and co-create a facilitating for the introduction of cleantech technologies and services across sectors. Today’s major global challenges arising from climate change, rapid urbanization, population growth and increasing energy consumption can not be solved by a single technology. Equally, no single sector-government, business or civil society – has the mandate and/or resources to address such long term and complex challenges. Only a combination of technologies and working partnerships of expertise, including integrated water systems, renewable energy, intelligent grids, smart city solutions and waste treatment systems can deliver sustainable, multi-sectoral solutions. The vision of the cluster is implemented by building and developing the potential of 10 cooperation platforms: • industry 4.0 • Smart City / sustainable urban development / e-mobility • intelligent buildings / management systems / ecological building materials • energy efficiency • smart grid / green energy • VR / AR / MR • Big Data • internet of things / internet of everything • bio-economy • circular economy
