The Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving is a public business entity attached to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce. It manages, along with the Autonomous Communities, the measures and funds allocated to the Energy Saving and Efficiency Strategy and the Renewable Energies Plan. IDAE carries out actions on dissemination of information, awareness campaigns, technical advice, and development and financing of technological innovation projects such as the Alcalá Biodiesel Plant, of which IDAE is the owner. It also develops an international activity within the framework of various European programmes and in cooperation projects with third countries.
