The Central RDA, a public non-commercial financially autonomous institution under the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction of Moldova, contributes to sustainable and equitable development of the Central Development Region - CDR.

Regional development projects implemented by Central RDA in the CDR aim to reduce the development gap within the region for its residents while ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the CDR, based on European norms and standards.

The Agency performs the following activities:

• Analyse the socio-economic development of the respective development region, draft regional development strategies, plans, programmes and projects; 

• Coordinate the implementation of the regional development strategy, plans, programmes and projects; 

• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the regional development strategies, programmes and projects; 

• Provide to Regional Councils, to the implementing authority of regional development policy and to NCCRD yearly reports on implementation of regional development strategies; 

• Attract non-budgetary resources to support the implementation of regional development strategies, programmes and projects; 

• Provide information, methodological and consultation support to the Regional Council and to local public administration authorities with respect to the balanced and sustainable development of the region; 

• Stimulate cooperation of the civil society in the socio-economic area of the region; 

• Provide secretariat activities to the Regional Council.
