ICEPT provides an academic hub for the interdisciplinary study of energy and the environment, specialising in the interface between technology and policy. It addresses key policy challenges, including climate change, energy security and energy for development with research activities related to the environment, energy security and economic development as well as advanced energy technologies and systems, energy-environmental policies and policy regimes. This includes the science and technology of all aspects of energy production, use and pollution abatement, the analysis of the environmental impact of energy-related pollution on climate, ecosystems and human health as well as the economic, legal and institutional aspects of energy and environmental policies that address these issues. Within EBTP, representatives of Imperial College are particularly involved with sustainable biomass availability and feedstock supply and demand issues.
