The EC Seed Crushers and Oil Processors Association represents the interests of the European seed and bean crushers and producers of oil-seed meal and vegetable oils and producers/processors. Its members crush some 30 million tonnes of oilseeds a year producing over 8.5 million tonnes of vegetable oils and processing of 3.7 million tonnes of imported oils in around 150 production facilities across Europe. It aims to formulate a common policy in the interest of the EU Oil and Proteinmeal Industry at National, European and International level; representing, protecting and promoting the EU vegetable oil and protein meal Industry’s position on a range of topics of interest to its members helping to develop good manufacturing practices that ensure the quality and safety of products products and encouraging the development and implementation of a workable regulatory framework both at EU and international level.
