Small and Medium Enterprises in Bioenergy: Boosting Rural Employment and Sustainable Biomass Mobilisation - Brussels, 7 June 2018

The event is hosted by the SecureChain consortium and will bring together professionals and stakeholders in bioenergy, offering a platform for various projects and regions. It will take place during the European Sustainable Energy Week 2018 

The conference will be opened by Dr Maria Georgiadou, Senior Policy Officer of the DG Research & Innovation of the European Commission. The programme will include interesting contributions from project members, engaged SMEs, invited partner projects, and European stakeholders and decision-makers in bioenergy. The results of SecureChain’s innovation voucher competition and the related mentoring programme for SMEs will be presented and be discussed in the light of how technical and financial support programmes can be tailored to the needs of SMEs in the bioenergy sector.

About the SecureChain project:
SecureChain is an EU Horizon 2020 project in which 10 partners support and promote market uptake of bioenergy by supporting SMEs in six European model regions through a dedicated innovation mentoring approach, targeting the entire bioenergy chain. Key activities include an Innovation Voucher competition, stakeholder involvement activities and training, support with environmental assessments and financial aspects. The project shows positive impacts on all assessed SMART criteria.
