The European Technology and Innovation Platform is a common interest group that aims to promote the development of bioenergy-based solutions and biofuels for transport in Europe. It is supported by a Secretariat that receives funding from the European Commission (Grant Agreement Number: 825179) under Horizon2020 – The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The project aims to facilitate the entry of European manufactures of sustainable energy technologies (SET), know-how and European research results into the emerging markets, provoked by the European Union Emission Trade Scheme (EU ETS) and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) markets in Asia. The main tools are information dissemination, project brokerage and partnering events. Additionally this website provides details of good practice, technology and service providers, and background information.

Information provided in registration forms on this website is added to the European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy registrant database. This database is used to disseminate information (usually by email) about the European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy and relevant European Commission activities and events. In some cases it may be used to promote information about other activities which are considered to be of direct interest to European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy registrants.

In order to reduce the amount of information sent to registrants, most of this information will be described in a newsletter. However, if the information is urgent or time-limited, special e-mailings and electronic press releases may be sent.

In order that registrants can feel confident about the safety of information disseminated by the European Technology and innovation Platform Bioenergy, information by email is generally sent in text-only format without attachments. The emails will usually contain links to pages on the internet where you can view and/or download further information.

What personal information do we collect, for what purpose and through which technical means?

In general, information is collected about businesses rather than individuals. Data collected may include identification data of a person (name, job title, areas of expertise, business contact address and telephone numbers, business email address, business website). In addition event preferences (e.g. parallel workshop to be attended) may be collected when registering for European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy events.

Forms are provided online and required information is clearly indicated.

Personal opinions on the performance of the ETIP Bioenergy, its services and evaluation may also be collected; in these cases the supply of a name and contact details are optional. These contact details are used to obtain additional information but specific identifiers are not included in any questionnaire results that are published. However, the country, type of organisation or area of interest may be included in the analysis.

The domains of interest and type of organisation are recorded in order to send focused newsletters.

Website log-records record the user’s IP address only. No cookies, etc. are used.
